We'll I haven't blogged about family here in a few months mostly I am just too busy!! I have been rehabbing a house then listing it for rent. After that I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled 2 weeks after that in October my daughter broke her leg at school and was out till January. Just when everything was getting good me and my husband celebrated our anniversary on Valentines day and then preceded to begin work on Moon Lake out farmstead/ personal retreat. Fast forward we are camping for spring break week we come back to learn school is out and the world has stopped. YES we where NOT prepared. As most people do I had cleaned out most food in the house knowing we would be away for a week. So I come home to a empty house and 3 teachers sending work home for my kids so between having kids home, working on the computer (writing my next book) it has been crazy. But one great part in all this is I have had a lot of days with just my kids.
Tip 1 to survive Pick 4- 5 activities each day write them in order and then do them. It's great to get the kids involved in the picking of actives and in what order they will happen. Tip 2 Keep the routine. If you normally get up get dressed and send the kids to school then you should do the same get up, change your clothes, do your hair and then begin the day. If your doing home school it's great to have a area that is the "school zone" do school work in that space and leave it when the "school day " is done. Tip 3 Lunch - Simple but many of us have been use to not having to make lunch and it is easy to forget but if you know your kids lunch time taking a break at the same time will do a lot towards keeping them goal oriented. Tip 4 Recess - Following the lunch tip if you know the time they had recess it's good to have a play time at the same time. Finally Just enjoy this is a rear time to be with your kids, see how they are growing and also they will remember this for there whole lives.
